Start Date: 07 June 2007
End Date: 10 June 2007

Simo Rezzani was born near Genova in Italy. She studied art and design at the Institute of Art and Restoration in Milan. For seven years she worked as an illustrator for a prestigious design company in Milan. In 1993 she came on holiday to Ireland and the 'holiday' was extended to the present day!
Her love affair with art, culture and the people of Ireland was further enhanced by the subject matter available to her, and in particular the ever changing light.
Her watercolours and oil paintings have been widely appreciated and exhibited through renowned Art Galleries, local exhibitions and interior design shops over the last ten years. Simo's impressionist style has captured seascapes and landscapes along the Dublin and Wicklow coast. The spirit and character of people and places is captured by her in bright glittering colours from the pallet of an impressionist artist. In Simo's painting one can find the Italian love of design and order merging with Celtic landscape and the spirituality warmed by the Italian sun.

Father Mathew]

Start Date: 20 September 2007
End Date: 22 September 2007

What happens to a man who becomes the saviour of a nation?
Father Mathew was one of the most significant figures of the 19th century. He was a radical liberation theologian a century before the world would hear of the phrase. He lived Christ's message so completely that the Catholic hierarchy were terrified of giving him power. His story encompasses the key events and personalities of the 19th century on both sides of the Atlantic and shows the rise and fall of a man who did what no one else has been able to do before or since: get the Irish to give up drink.

Confused by Confucius? Thoroughly thrown by Thoreau? Wish Swift was swifter? Tennyson tinier? Then buckle up and hop aboard as the three cultural guerrillas of the RSC zip through everything you didn't get around to reading in school.
"Witty and wacky." Veronica Lee - London Sunday Telegraph
"Intertextuality can rarely have felt so frantic or so funny." James Smart - The Scotsman, Edinburgh

Is this about Sex?]

Start Date: 01 October 2007
End Date: 13 October 2007

Following its world premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2007, Rough Magic and Pavilion Theatre are delighted to present this intelligent no-holds-barred comedy by award winning writer Christian O'Reilly (The Good Father, Inside I'm Dancing) as part of the 2007 Dublin Theatre Festival.
An acute dissection of sexual policy and emotional manners, Is this about Sex? debunks the definitions that bewitch, bother and bewilder us. Daniel, Angela, Cathy, Paul and Kay attempt to navigate the complexity of modern relationships in a sea of icebergs, whirlpools and unseen currents. This is a dark and delightful exploration of gender, sexuality and identity.
